Data protection declaration for online applications
Thank you for your interest in applying online. Saurer Germany GmbH & Co. KG and its subsidiaries (hereinafter referred to as "Saurer") place great importance on protecting your personal data. We use the personal data provided to us in accordance with legal provisions, particularly the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG).

Application information
We collect different types of data, including, in particular, your personal data containing contact information and a description of your education, work experience and skills. You also have the option to send us electronically stored documents, such as certificates and covering letters.
Please note that particularly CVs, certificates and other data transferred by you for the purpose of your application may also contain particularly sensitive data within the meaning of Paragraph 3 Paragraph 9 BDSG, such as information on your mental and physical health, race or ethnic background, religion or ideology, memberships of unions or political parties, and sex life. We therefore recommend that you refrain from providing information on particularly sensitive data. By transferring such information to us, you agree for us to store and use it in accordance with this data protection declaration.
By applying, you guarantee that the information provided by you is truthful. We would like to point out that any false statements or deliberate omissions may be grounds for a rejection or subsequent dismissal.
This online application process does not require a signature to become formally effective.
Data collection, purpose of data collection and data transfer
We require some information about your person when you apply for employment with Saurer online.
The following application data is therefore collected and processed when you apply online:
- Form of address
- Title
- First name
- Last name
- Street address
- Post code and city
- E-mail address
- Telephone/mobile number
- Text field for entering your covering letter
- Attachment upload for covering letter
- Attachment upload for application documents
When accessing our web pages from your Internet browser, technical information is also automatically transmitted to us, such as information on the browser used by you, operating system, date and time of your visit and any potential referrer URL. This information is exclusively used for statistical purposes and for suitably designing our website. You, the user, remain anonymous. We are unable to combine this data with data from your online application.
We would like to further inform you that the data transferred by you may be used for preparing statistics on the (online) application process. These statistics are exclusively prepared for our own purposes and are never personalised, but anonymised.
The application data is exclusively collected and processed so that Saurer can process your application.
We treat your data as absolutely confidential and never pass it on to third parties.
We treat the information you provide to us as confidential and transfer it only to those Saurer employees who are dealing with the application process.
Consent
By clicking the checkbox, you explicitly agree for Saurer to collect, process and use the data transferred by you for processing your application.
Your data is only transferred once you have given your consent by clicking the checkbox.
Deleting data
Should we be unable to offer you an employment, we will store the data transferred by you for a period of up to six months for the purpose of answering any questions relating to your application and rejection. This does not apply if legal provisions prohibit the deletion of the data or the data has to be stored for longer periods as evidence or you have agreed to a longer storage period.
Should we find your application documents generally useful and there merely are no suitable vacancies at present, you shall herewith agree for us to retain and store your data. This enables us to contact you should a suitable opportunity arise in the future.
Should your application result in the conclusion of an employment contract, your data may be stored and used for the usual organisational and administrative processes in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.
You obviously have the right to withdraw your application at any time.
Encryption
The data is transferred in encrypted form due to its sensitive nature.
Information and withdrawal
You may, at any time, obtain information on the information about you stored by us and request for inaccurate data referring to your person to be corrected or for the stored data to be deleted, in whole or part thereof.
You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect. The respective data will then be deleted immediately. Please e-mail your withdrawal, including your full name and e-mail address, to sakldkl@saurer.com.
Amendments to this data protection declaration
Due to the rapid developments of the Internet and legislation, we reserve the right to amend this data protection declaration at any time to meet technical and legal requirements. We shall announce such amendments on our website.
